If you like humor mixed in with a mystery, this book is for you. Where else can you find a blond, bimbo dog with a fetish all her own? The people are fun and the plot will keep you guessing up until the very end!

Witty dialogue, quirky characters, unique setting and grab-the-purse-and-run pacing! I'm anxious to see more of Whiskey Mattimoe and the intrepid Abra. Kudos to the author!

5 out of 5 stars Funny, dark. Super fast read.   September 1, 2005

This book is a roller coaster ride of cartoon-funny scenes and scary suspense. Plus I liked the very believable grief and insecurity Whiskey is still feeling six months after the death of her husband. Been there, done that. Can agree with the way this author lays it out. Most important, though, this is a good mystery that delivers some belly laughs and a satisfying conclusion.

5 out of 5 stars Great mystery for people who love dogs & love to laugh   September 1, 2005

I've owned dogs all my life and can relate to Whiskey Mattimoe's frustrations with her inherited Afghan hound Abra. Some dogs are good, and some are--well--almost untrainable. Guess which category Abra belongs in? Therein lies a lot of the humor in this exciting mystery. Intriguing characters add to the fun. Wright can really write snappy dialogue. You can hear these characters talking!
